Open Up Your Heart and Let the Sunshine In

was written in 1955 by Stuart Hamblen, chorus is copyrighted so does not appear here

New verses by Barbara F. Gregory written for Public Domain

When things go wrong and you get mad,

The world seems dark and gray.

But realize that keeping calm

Is the lesson every day.

Without the clouds to bring the rain;

Flowers wouldn't grow.

When the rain is done the sun comes out

And then we see rainbows.

Come along and sing with me,

We'll sing a happy song.

If you're feeling low a happy song

Will lift your spirits so.

And everyone who hears us sing

Will feel better, too.

Pretty soon all those around

Will be singing along with you.
