Down by the Sewage Treatment Plant
Barb’s answer to Pat Dailey’s boating and fishing songs about
Put-in-Bay. He never mentions Sandusky in any of his songs. We have a
nice bay, ice-boating, fishing....all the things Put-in-Bay has. What
Sandusky didn’t have was a song. Unfortunately, due to Barb’s lack
of terrific song writing skills., Sandusky still doesn’t....Tune -
Down by the Riverside
Chorus:
Gonna
launch my boat to go fishing
Down
by the sewage plant
Down
by the sewage plant
Down
by the sewage plant
Gonna
launch my boat to go fishing
Down
by the sewage plant
Down
by the sewage treatment plant
Verses:
Oh,
yes, I took out a loan
And
bought my speedy boat
I’m
in hock up to my ears.
Got
behind the wheel
Started
her up
Just
tell me where I find the gears?
Oh,
yes, I’m gonna catch some perch
And
maybe some rock bass
And
then I’ll catch some walleye
Gonna
catch some silver cat
And
maybe a bullhead
And
surely some great big sheephead
Oh,
yes, I’m gonna launch my boat
In
Sandusky Bay
And
head over to Marblehead
I’ve
got it up full throttle
Making
quite a wake
Why
are those sailboats in my way?
Well,
we put out our anchor
Now
it’s time to fish
This
looks like a really good place
We’ve
got plenty of bait
We’ve
started to fish
Why’s
that freighter heading our way?
Well,
we pulled up anchor fast
The
freighter has gone past
Now
we’re going someplace else
What’s
that awful sound?
You
go look around
Oh,
no, we’ve hit a reef
The
Coastguard came out
And
asked if we needed help
So
now we’re being towed
We’ve
made it back to land
You
know, I spent ten grand
And
only caught one fish.
